Bethany Hotchkiss Founder and CEO

Marketing has never been a career pivot for Bethany; it has been the constant. From her earliest roles in customer service, she was drawn to the same challenge: understanding what a person needs, earning their trust, and delivering an experience that genuinely delights them. That instinct didn’t change as her career grew. It sharpened. Her professional background spans customer-facing leadership, organizational development, and talent acquisition,  disciplines that, at their core, are all exercises in marketing.

As Regional Director of Talent Management, her primary role is to represent an organization with enough integrity and magnetism that the right candidates don’t just consider it, they choose it. She builds narratives, crafts value propositions, and positions an employer brand against a competitive market.

Every day, from a strategic and business perspective, she lives the work that Hotchkiss & Write was built to deliver. That is, at its core, what great marketing does. It finds the right person, earns their attention, and makes the case clearly enough that they choose you. Bethany brings that same architecture to Hotchkiss & Write, where the channels are Meta, TikTok, and email rather than recruitment pipelines, but the underlying craft is identical: understand the audience deeply, build a message that resonates, and deliver it with precision.

She founded Hotchkiss & Write because she saw the same failure pattern in marketing that she’d spent years correcting in talent: work handed off to people who were technically competent but didn’t understand the organization, the audience, or what was actually at stake. Hotchkiss & Write exists to be the alternative, a firm where the person who builds the strategy is the person accountable for the result. She works with a small roster of clients by design. Not as a positioning statement, as a standard.

Jason Hotchkiss Head of Campaign Operations and Digital Strategy

Jason brings over seven years of experience building and managing the digital infrastructure that turns marketing strategy into measurable outcomes. His background spans digital ecosystem architecture, analytics, SEO/SEM performance, and multi-platform campaign operations, work he has carried out at the executive level for organizations managing complex, multi-million-dollar digital portfolios.

Before partnering with Bethany on Hotchkiss & Write, Jason served as a Digital Operations Consultant at Ansira, where he architected digital marketing systems, led strategic growth engagements, and delivered the operational rigor that large organizations depend on but rarely find in a single practitioner. Before that, five years as Operations & Strategy Manager at Interstate Nissan and Mitsubishi gave him something most strategists lack: direct accountability for revenue, not just recommendations. He managed digital presence, competitor intelligence, platform compliance, and daily business operations, and he was responsible for the results of each.

When Bethany founded Hotchkiss & Write, the natural next step was to work together. Jason owns everything that happens between strategy and outcome, campaign builds, platform architecture, analytics infrastructure, and performance reporting. The operational layer that determines whether good ideas become real results. Working alongside Bethany on every engagement means clients don’t receive strategy from one person and execution from another. The thinking and the doing stay connected.

His technical fluency spans GA4 and KPI dashboard development, SEO/SEM auditing, and social media systems management. He is the reason the work holds together at the level of detail that clients rarely see, and that always shows in the numbers.

Watson Chief Culture Officer & Remote Companion

Watson joined Hotchkiss & Write at its founding and has held the title of Chief Culture Officer ever since, a role he accepted without hesitation and has never once considered relinquishing.

His philosophy on work is straightforward: sleep and play are not obstacles to productivity. They are the foundation of it. Watson brings this conviction to the office daily, leading by example from whichever spot on the couch currently receives the best light. He does not subscribe to the hustle culture. He reviewed it and found it beneath him.

His standards are, by any measure, discerning. He sips filtered water exclusively, maintains strong opinions about the quality of his meals, and has made clear on multiple occasions that treats are a non-negotiable component of any acceptable workday. Kibble is tolerated. Treats are preferred. This position is not up for negotiation.

In his professional capacity, Watson is the emotional anchor of the firm. When the work gets demanding and the deadlines press close, he offers the kind of companionship that no strategy deck can replicate — a steady presence, an unhurried disposition, and an unconditional willingness to simply be there.

 

Watson is available for select client introductions and has been known to make an appearance on calls when the occasion warrants it. His on-camera presence is, by all accounts, excellent. He does not overexplain. He does not run long. He simply shows up, makes an impression, and leaves the humans to handle the rest.

Watson does not have a direct email. All requests for his time should be routed through Bethany, who will consult his schedule and his mood before confirming availability.
